The Challenge: More Sustainable Supply Chains
Tracking sustainable sourcing across supply chains remains a massive obstacle. How do manufacturers get insights into the operations of external suppliers—and ultimately improve their behaviors? This lack of visibility carries with it both huge environmental impacts and real business risks. We can— and must—do better. And we're looking for new solutions and technologies in two specific areas:
How can organizations measure, trace, and track the impact of their supply chain footprint? Solutions we're looking for could be through automation, internal data collection, or more accurate inferences of external data sources.
How can companies reduce the impact of a product's footprint through new materials innovations, either natural or synthetic? Solutions we're looking for could be in limiting the extractive process to obtain the materials or in improving the end-of-life impact of a product.
Materials & End-of-life Impact
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of sustainability experts from Techstars and Challenge Partners. They will be judged on three criteria: 1. Problem-solution fit. 2. Scale of the solution's potential impact. 3. The ability to implement a proof-of-concept with an enterprise organization.
